If you want an indoor cycling routine or workout playlist that will leave you breathless, the energy in R&B and hip-hop 90s workout songs is unmatched. The beat will vibrate off the walls, the lyrics will rattle around your head, and the sweat will be dripping down your back in no time. This 90s hip-hop indoor cycling workout playlist has all the great songs to transport you to a time when bucket hats were cool… er, first cool.
Reminder: I like to teach my cycle classes in a series of exercises that we do 2-4 times through. I pick a couple exercises to make up the series, and we stick to it throughout the class. That way, participants know what to expect, so they can go big when they’re supposed to and not hold back for fear of another interval around the corner.
The Series (60-minute Workout)
- Song 1: Moderate intensity, find hard intensity at the chorus. If you have a monitor, ask participants to increase their RPM / speed by 10 to increase intensity.
- Song 2: Moderate intensity, find breathless intensity at the chorus. If you have a monitor, ask participants to increase their RPM / speed by 15-20 to increase intensity.
- Song 3: Jumps. Cue jumps how you normally would. These songs have a great beat for moving in and out of the saddle.
- Song 4: 30/30 breathless sprints.
